For over ten years now me and my trusted team of tradesmen have been providing building and renovation services in South London to both commercial and domestic customers. We have fitted flagship retail premises in central London, converted dilapidated houses into stunning living spaces, and updated bathrooms and kitchens to an extremely high standard. Our services include loft and basement conversions, kitchen extensions, and painting and decorating.

How are you organized as a business?

I employ a team of between five and ten tradesmen and labourers depending on the volume of work. Most of my tradesmen have been working for me for over five years, and some of them have been with me from the start. I like to keep subcontracting to a minimum to give me more control over the timing of the project and the quality of the work. For details of the services we offer please visit the Services section.

How would I benefit from the way you work?

The size of the team and the experience we have behind us means we can take on large domestic conversions and renovations. At the same time we are small enough not to have massive administration costs. That gives us a competitive edge in our pricing compared to other firms offering a similar quality of work.

I tend to run one project at a time and give it 100% of my attention. Basically, it will be always clear who is in charge of your project and who takes full responsibility for the work: me. This means I will be the sole point of contact – saving you the hassle of dealing with any admin staff or site managers.

Instructing us to look after all aspects of your renovation means:

There is no need to book separate tradesmen. When different companies are handling various aspects of the job, it is difficult to maintain a consistent quality of work. There are also often timing issues and instances of “passing the buck” when things go wrong. What tends to happen, particularly on large projects, is no-one takes responsibility, things get delayed and what’s worse, it all ends up costing more than your original estimates. At Simon Daniels Renovations, our way of working ensures this does not happen to you.

One warranty for all renovation work. We take responsibility for all aspects of your renovation from start to finish. We also provide a warranty for the items supplied, such as kitchens, bathrooms and boilers. On the odd occasion that anything goes wrong or stops working there is only one number you have to ring to get things sorted.

Extended five year warranty on gas appliances.

We offer a five year warranty on all gas appliances that we supply and install, based on an annual service agreement.

Extended five year warranty on all new plumbing and electrical installations. We will repair or cover the cost of repairs where there are possible faults to electrical or plumbing installations.

NB: We can only offer this warranty on properties that are fully re-wired and fully re-plumbed and where no alterations have been made to installations after completion. You must retain the original installation certificates in order to prove date of installation and for us to make sure that no alterations were made

Peace of mind. For most of our customers this is the biggest benefit of them all. When you hire us you are not only hiring a building company. You are buying yourself the peace of mind that allows you to get on with your day-to-day life while we get on with the work. You can be rest assured that the quality of our work is second to none, and that the work will be delivered on time and on budget. We are also reasonable – there is no small print, and no hidden charges costing you a fortune if you don’t supply your items on time. If you want us to supply everything, that’s fine with us. The cost is the same whether you buy the items through us or directly from the suppliers.

I understand renovation is often a big financial commitment and comes with the risk that the firm you hire is not up to the job. I’ll be the first person to tell you it’s in your interest to get as many quotes and references as you can.

Remember to get references for the type of work you want; someone who can fit a kitchen may not necessarily be the guy to convert your loft!

I’m happy to arrange visits to finished projects or ones we are still working on. I find these visits are often enough to convince people of the quality of our work.

If you are so good you must be busy then? How long would I have to wait to book you in?

Well, yes we are busy. We are booked at least three months in advance, and sometimes there is a lead time of between six and eight months.

I believe the type of work we do requires a lot of planning. If you have planned your work well in advance then you should not have a problem booking us. It never ceases to amaze me when people want to start their six month renovation project next week. Please bear this in mind when you plan your work and ring to book us.

Currently our next availability for large projects is from the beginning of May. Smaller projects such as bathroom renovations, kitchen installations, plumbing or electrical work can usually be done with two to three weeks notice.
